Visa for the Czech Republic
General Visa Information
People who are not from EU countries are referred to by the system as 3rd country nationals.
3rd country nationals are then split down roughly into visa waiver countries and non visa waiver countries.
Citizens of visa wavier countries can usually apply for a Czech visa inside the Schengen zone.
Most other visas have to be applied for outside the Czech Republic. Althgough there are some visas that can be applied for inside the country, such as visas for spouses and family members.
Visas are only issued by the Embassy/Consulate, where the application was submitted.
It is not possible to apply for a visa in one country and then pick it up in the Czech Republic.
You must collect the visa yourself at the end of the application process.
Now that the Czech Republic is in the Schengen zone EU citizens do not need a visa to visit the Czech Republic.
