The long term visa application form has changes.
The short term visa system has changed. (as of 05/04/2010)
This mean that the visa section is going to be re written.
Oh and the foreign police offices have made some changes. So a re write there as well.
And the site needs a search function.
That is next after the above changes.

The Czech Shengen visa system is changing!
Word is that the whole Czech/Shengen system will change 5th of April. The application forms will change as well.

The forums have been taken down. No one was using the forums. Except for spammers.
I had to spend over an hour a day cleaning forums no one was using.
So, deleted they got.

Well this could be important for some people.
There is a large change coming in the visa system.
It was possible that you when you applied for a zivnostensky list and visa. You could cover the 120 day issuing period with a short term visa. Word is that this is no longer allowed.
There is no information at this time as how this time can be covered.

Found out yesterday, there is a Czech health insurance company that is willing to "backdate" health insurance.
Big deal. You say.
Ah, but for some people it could be big news.
Imagine that there are people that for one reason or another they let their health insurance payments slip.
I met someone who had got a new zivnost and not registered with health social etc for at least 6 months.
This would usually entail a fine from health and social.
If you can back pay health insurance....
No more fine.

The databox pages are being updated. The system is starting to come online and offices are starting to use the system.
I got my first offiiclal email today. It onlt took an hour to open it.
There has also been some update in the tax law relative to databox. If you export/import to Europe (?) you are supposed to be using the databox sytem (?) to communicate with the tax offices.
Wiil post more as I can find out more. But, for now. If you have an SRO and have a databox. I wish you luck. The system is messy.

Found a small piece of information yesterday.
If you wish to take a driving test here in the Czech Republic, you have to have been registered here with the foreign police for at least 185 days.

This is a good place for quick updates.
Long term visas filed in Bratislava are currently taking 90 days to issue. So if you filed in Bratislava before New Year, it is a good time to call and check the status of your application.

But right now things are "busy". And I need somewhere to write that the site had a large up-date on 02/03/2010.
Also it needs to be said. Sorry about the mess and I hope to tidy it up as soon as possible.
The thing is that, Vlastina.cz does not pay for itself and I have other priorities right now. I hope to clean up the changes as soon as possible.
The site was run on Joomla!. Here is a little advice. Stay away from Joomla. It is too big for what you want. You will end up having to pay someone to run your site for you.
"Free as in free beer". Means that yes the beer may be free but someone has to make the beer!
Unless you can create a template for a PHP website. You will have to pay someone to create a template for your Joomla site. Then once running a Joomla site. Joomla is so large and complex, you will end paying someone to maintain the site for you.
I say this not because I could not manage a Joomla site. But, because it was time consuming and a drain on my resources and effort.
So, Vlastina.cz CMS was changed to Getsimple. Hence the "mess" the site is in.
It will be cleanned and updated as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience.
